Seeking up to 50 participants to be involved in a new community dance film.
No previous dance experience is required. Whether you've danced for years or have never stepped into a studio, you're welcome to be involved.
Participants will learn a short section of choreography over three rehearsals before filming in July.

Expressions of interest are now open for the next stage of Project Momentum, developed through Jeremy Beck's Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance at the University of Otago.
Jeremy is seeking a core cast of 10 performers to be part of a large-scale improvised dance performance at the Glenroy Auditorium.
The work will be developed through weekly Saturday rehearsals, culminating in a public performance on 25 October 2026.
The performance will include guest dancers from Footnote New Zealand Dance and Atamira Dance Company alongside the community cast.

• A commitment to weekly rehearsals is essential.Previous movement experience is welcome but not required. A willingness to move and collaborate is all that's needed.

Adult Beginner Contemporary Class with Jeremy Beck
A welcoming contemporary dance class for adults wanting to move, build confidence and develop strong foundations.
This class focuses on the fundamentals of safe dance practice while introducing core principles of contemporary movement. We’ll work through a mix of guided movement phrases and structured improvisation, helping you build both coordination and creative confidence.
Expect to explore:
Foundations of safe and sustainable dance technique
Awareness and efficiency in movement
Strength, mobility, and balance
Simple movement pathways and creative exploration
No prior dance experience is required - absolute beginners are welcome. If you have danced before and want to revisit the basics, you’ll also feel at home.
What to bring:
Water bottle.
Long sleeves and track pants are advised to support floor work and comfort.
WHO:
Born in Ōtepoti Aotearoa, Jeremy Beck is a distinguished graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance and the 2026 Caroline Plummer Fellow with the University of Otago. Jeremy an active freelance contemporary dance performer, choreographer and teacher of Ngāi Tahu and Pākehā descent.
Over the past 11 years he was worked with leading professional companies and tertiary institutions across Australia and Aotearoa.
