This. playfully unpacks themes of choice, inclusion, and group dynamics. Performed by three dancers navigating a red circular form, the work blends subtle humour with sharp physicality, inviting audiences to reflect on how we move together — and apart.
“Hold up. What’s happening? What is this? Is this ok? Where is this going? Should I be doing this? Can we stop? Should we stop? Where should we stop? Is it too late? Is this the right direction? Have we gone too far? I know I should change - change is good - is this change good? You know what - we can solve this. I think we can do this.”
“This, choreographed by Jeremy Beck and performed by Oliver Carruthers, Sebastian Geilings and Cheyanne Teka, is the stand out for me and I was so captivated I forgot to take notes. The three dancers transitioned from testing and tweaking placement and relationship to each other on their tiny red platform to loose bopping to something reminiscent of speed-fuelled Wide Boys set at a dark nightclub in the late 90s. They were tight and controlled, humorous and at full noise right throughout.”
